COMMISSION 27 UNPUBLISHED DATA FILE No. 140 6 pages, including cover sheet July 1988 UBV Photometry of Tau Persei During Its November 1984 Eclipse This file contains differential UBV photometry of the long-period eclipsing binary Tau Persei before, during, and after the eclipse which was predicted for November 1984. There were five different observers: Barksdale, Landis, Fried, Louth, and Hopkins. On the next five sheets are mean differential magnitudes, in the sense variable minus comparison, corrected for extinction and transformed to the UBV system, the number (n) of individual measures comprising each mean, heliocentric Julian date, the comparison star which was used. The data which used gamma Persei as the comparison star and the data which used HR 787 can be merged together by using the differences V (HR 787 - gamma Per) = 2.91 m, B (HR 787 - gamma Per) = 3.36 m, U (HR 787 - gamma Per) = 3.99 m. More details can be found in I.B.V.S. No. 2847 (co-authored by T. B. Ake, F. C. Fekel, D. S. Hall, W. S. Barksdale, H. J. Landis, R. E. Fried, H. Louth, and J. L. Hopkins), in which this photometry was discussed. Douglas S. Hall Dyer Observatory Vanderbilt University Nashville, Tennessee 37235 U.S.A.
