INFORMATION BULLETIN ON VARIABLE STARS Number 1561 Konkoly Observatory Budapest 1979 February 28 SUPERNOVA IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY By comparing older plates with new ones of the supernova survey program at the Konkoly Observatory I discovered a supernova in the anonymous galaxy alpha=7h27,2m; delta=+65d19' (1950). The plate was taken with our 60/90/180 cm Schmidt-telescope on October 24, 1976. The identification chart is shown in Fig. 1. The supernova appeared at about 7.0" to the east and 6.0" to the south of the centre of the galaxy and its brightness was about 15 mag. [FIGURE 1] M.
