COMMISSION 27 OF THE I. A. U. INFORMATION BULLETIN ON VARIABLE STARS NUMBER 751 Konkoly Observatory Budapest 1972 December 30 LIGHT VARIATIONS OF 59 PISCIUM The bright star 59 Psc (HR 214; m (V) =6.01m), reported as a suspected Delta Scuti variable by Michael A. Seeds and Gail A. Yanchak (The Delta Scuti Stars, the Franklin Institute 1972) has been observed in V filter on the nights of October 11 and November 28, 1972, employing 61 Psc (HR 217; m(V)= 6.45) as comparison star. The light curves are shown in the figure. The curves show a period of very nearly 0.1040d and light amplitude of 0.04m (+-0.01m). The following maxima and minima have been observed: Maxima: J.D.2441602.241 Minima: J.D. 2441602.193 J.D.2441650.185 J.D. 2441650.236 The varying amplitudes of the two light curves suggest the presence of beating. Further investigations are proceeding. Thanks are due to Dr. S.D. Sinvhal for helpful discussions. Uttar Pradesh State Observatory S.K. GUPTA Naini Tal, India A.K.
