COMMISSION 27 OF THE I. A. U. INFORMATION BULLETIN ON VARIABLE STARS NUMBER 85 Konkoly Observatory Budapest 8 March 1965 DOUBLE-LINED ECLIPSING BINARY BV 382 CEPHEI HD 205372 This star was previously announced as an EW binary having the period 0d.483; (1) (2) (3). Spectroscopic and photoelectric observations made respectively at the Astrophysical Observatories of Asiago and Bologna show that the variable is a double-lined system whose period is approximately twice the old one. The spectral types of both components are about A0 V, so that the binary belongs to the beta-Lyrae type. The following preliminary elements have been derived; P = 0d.936171 T_0 = 2438225.6858 JD (primary minimum) e = 0.00, V_0 = -22 km/s, i = 71deg K_1 = 172 km/s, K_2 = 187 km/s a_1 = 2.3x10^6 km, a_2 = 2.5x10^6 km r_1 = 1.8x10^6 km, r_2 = 1.7x10^6 km m_1 = 2.7(solar), m_2= 2.5(solar) rho_1 = 0.16(solar), rho_2 = 0.16(solar) Further results will be given in a paper which is now in print. MAMMANO G. MANNINO R. MARGONI Remark to Bulletin No.80 On the little chart the variable is hardly to be recognized as a small ring. The variable is the star 9.4 mm from the right side and 3.8 mm from below. C. HOFFMEISTER
