                    SUPERNOVA IN NGC 4178

    Mrs. Zaytsheva at the Sternberg Southern Station discovered
on plates taken on May 14 and 16 a Supernova preceding 36 seconds
of arc south the centre of NGC 4178. Photographic magnitude 14,5.
Nine spectra had been obtained.
